What is the best solar panels to power your house?
I need to power a refrigerator, and a few small items. I do not foresee not operate an AC unit.
Any commercial grade solar panels will do. The big question is how much you need, and if you need storage. If you plan to go out of the toaster, you will need to design a system large enough to provide for both normal use and storage enough to lead you to periods without sunshine – and night, of course. The rule of thumb is about 3 x your peak load, with enough storage for a full 24 hours of no sun. Suppose that your refrigerator uses an average of 800 watts per hour and works 8 hours a day (probably a bit high in both cases, but better to be safe). Suppose your total average additional charge is 800 watts – Hair dryer _NO_ sense, flat-screen TVs, vacuum trucks, electric heating, washing machine, dishwasher, electric stove, and so on. You will need a system with 5000 watts 30 000 "watts" storage. It is a bank very large number of batteries you could imagine. Your approximate installed cost will be something on the order of $ 40 000 – 60 000 USD, or $ 8 – $ 12/watt according to many factors.
