Novothink Solar iPhone Charger Approved by Apple
What a great product. Novothink’s Surge for iPhone and iPod Touch is the first solar charger to be certified by Apple. This slip-on case has its own internal battery and LED status lights, and a mini-solar panel on the back of the unit.
Surge allows full access to the iPhone, with openings to the speakers, USB cable port, and camera. There’s even a cord included to hang the iPhone from a backpack or your belt while outside to charge it up.
Novothink is working on a free iPhone and iPod Touch Solar Planner app that will calculate how much sunlight you need to keep the Surge, Toshiba pa3534u-1brs laptop battery and iPhone charged. The lithium-ion battery in the Surge actually has more capacity than the original battery inside the iPhone.
Surge is fully compatible with the iPhone 3G and 3GS, and will hit stores later this month for a price of $69.95. Many colors will be available, as well as an optional belt clip.

A FloDesign Wind Turbine will generate the same amount of power as a conventional windmill with double its size. This also means more wind turbines can be placed closer together, increasing output on a wind farm. Pressure increases the speed of air moving through the FloDesign unit and actually creates a vacuum behind the turbine which pulls even more air volume past the blades.
The blades themselves are highly efficient. Most windmills require the wind to be between 3 and 4 degrees of head on to maximize efficiency. The FloDesign turbine can work efficiently at angles of up to 20 degrees away from the wind direction.
Although the Surge looks thicker than most cases, at $70 the free and clean power outweighs the bigger size.
