Micro Wind Generator
I wish to know wether the computer processer small fan will work as generator if we give some 200/300 RPM?
I want to fabricate a toy working model wind mill generator giving 12 volts /6volts. i have one small fan working on a micro processor on my old computer available with me . will this fan can be converted as generator . or any suitable ideas please
Well no. In most cases a CPU fan these days is a blushless DC motor. That type of motor can not be used as a generator.
You need a permanent magnet DC motor. These motors can be found in many toys or purchased on line from solarbotics:
