Steam Turbine Generator Sets

steam turbine generator sets
What is the typical start up and shut down time of a steam turbine generator set?

Just looking for a very basic range. I know a typical full load test is around 4 hours, but how long does it take to get to that point? And how long does it take to go from running a full load to being completely powered off? Is it seconds, minutes, hours, days?? Any ideas or references would be much appreciated.

It depends on the size and type of steam turbine. I know of some smaller ones that can be on line in less than a minute if the case is all ready warm,

They can all go off line in seconds. Some just don’t tolerate that type of shutdown as well as others.

WHAT IS LATENT DEMAND AND THE P.I.E.?The concept of latent demand is rather subtle. The term latent typically refers to something that is dormant, not observable, or not yet realized. Demand is the notion of an economic quantity that a target population or market requires under different assumptions of price, quality, and distribution, among other factors. Latent demand, therefore, is commonly def…
